The Brooklyn Dog # 6: Resqwalk, the app that donates $ every time you walk the dog

Have y'all heard about Resqwalk? It's a way to donate money to an animal shelter of your choice, just by logging a walk with your dog. And it's completely FREE—the app donates the $ for you, from a fully-funded Indiegogo campaign, plus ongoing corporate backing—all you have to do is hit the pavement. No dog? No problem (well besides the obvious emotional and spiritual one). Walking is walking, with or without canine; as long as you download the app and log your steps, you're making a difference. And now that it's finally getting nice out, you have no excuse.

On Resqwalk, you can donate to shelters all over the country. But from April to September, Park Slope for Pets is launching Steps Fur Pets, a ResQ partnership that features a different local Brooklyn rescue each month. (April: Foster Dogs NYC; May: Badass Brooklyn; June: Brooklyn Animal Action; July: ReeFuge; August: Sean Casey; September: Positive Tails)

This golden retriever, Smiley, looks damn good with no eyes! He's also a licensed therapy dog for the mentally-ill and disabled.

Coyotes have moved into these folks' backyard in New Jersey, and the homeowners are pissed! Y'all can come stay with me any day, coyot's! Except, err, I don't have a yard.
